Beckhoff KL9520 / KL 9520 General description Beckhoff KL9520 (also known as KL 9520) is a digital input module for the Beckhoff Bus terminal control system (BK9000). It is used to convert external digital signals into internal digital signals that can be processed by a PLC or other automation devices.
FEATURES
16 digital inputs with optocouplers
Input voltage: 8-30 VDC
Input current: max. 10 mA per channel
Scan cycle: 250 µs
Response time: 2 µs per edge
ESD protection: ±8 kV for each channel
DIN rail mounted (width 17.5 mm)
Applications The KL9520 digital input module is used in various industrial applications such as:
Detecting the state of the switch
Digital signal monitoring
Interfacing with sensors and digital devices
Connection The KL9520 is connected to a bus terminal using a 20-pin screw connector. External digital signals are connected to the screw terminals on the module.
Configuration The KL9520 module does not require configuration as it works as soon as it is connected. However, specific parameters such as the input voltage range can be set using Beckhoff's TwinCAT software.
The advantages
Large number of digital inputs
Galvanic isolation through optocouplers
Quick response
Easy to connect and use
disadvantage
Relatively limited number of inputs compared to some alternative digital input modules
It has no filtering or signal processing functions
